In sickness and in health
So now Muis is sick...
We got a bit disturbing phonecall on thursday that the woman taking care of the kittens had called Katimo that Muis (the mother) was sick. The person from Katimo called Skavenger by mistake (the woman has the same name Skavenger has) and otherwise wouldn't have told us I think!? So we were bit worried and we tried to call katimo and when we finally got her on the phone she told us Muis had a fever of 41 degrees but that it would be ok. The vet had given the woman some antibiotics for her to give to the cat.
So all is well that ends well you think... But don't forget to concider the inexperience of some people. The woman had mixed the antibiotics with Muis' food. But muis didn't eat that. So when the woman from Katimo visited us saturday (I'll repair her PC for her as a favour and I'll maybe build Katimo's website if I am lucky) she told us that and that Muis now had a fever of 42 degrees and was weak and skinny. Muis had been to the vet again and the woman taking care had called Katimo weeping (she was afraid Muis is going to die, because she really likes/loves her too) that they had kept Muis at the vet. Then the woman from Katimo called the vet and asked why. The vet explained that it was because he didn't trust the woman to do a good job curing Muis and that he was angry that she endangered the life of Muis by not doing what was told.
So because of the kittens being sick, needing their mother to strengthen and now their mother being sick we'll have to wait longer; from this moment another 3 to 5 weeks (instead of 1 to 2 weeks) until we have Pica. I sure hope all turns out ok and no kitten, nor Muis will die.
Today we'll try to visit the kittens and take pictures. We went tuesday and saturday but no-one was there to open the door. Hopefully today...
Edit:
The woman taking care of the kittens was home today. We were going for a quick visit but ended up staying for over an hour. It appeared Muis has pneumonia. The kittens are really cute and Pica is the most cuddly one. Seldom using his nails and sleepy all the time. All those kittens do is sleep, wake up, as fast as they can eat, play a bit with the other kittens and then go to sleep again.
I also managed to take some photographs but I didn't take the camera with me to Eindhoven so now I might be able to post at wednesday.

I sure hope she will get well... But the woman from Katimo was quite optimistic about it.
The kittens were incredibly cute, and I almost felt guilty when the woman said that she regretted promising Pica to us, because by now, she wanted to keep him, ghehehe... And so did everyone else who saw him. I just hope she's gonna play fair and give him to us anyway, because we really really really want him!
And she made us promise that we would come to visit sometimes with Pica, so she could see how he's doing. We're convinced that she will completely break down once the kittens have left, even though she will keep one, and Muis.
