It's a boy!

We now have Pica.

We had hoped the person from katimo would be there when we got him but she couldn't because of personal reasons. So we had a problem... no bench. We had a box though. And since we had to move Pica only like 100 meters we decided that was a good idea. So we put him in the box and closed it. The box had two holes in it for handles. Pica's paw was reaching out of it the full length wanting to escape. When we arrived home Pica got out asap and ran around a bit, hid on the attic (we only have 2 floors, main floor and the attic), finally came down and went to sleep on a chair. Then when we went to bed we turned of the lights and for a moment he was alone. He started meowing. He didn't move though. He had never been alone and was still a bit afraid. We moved him to the attic and we went to sleep. Within a minute he was meowing in front of our bedroom door. The poor thing. Though we didn't let him in the room. We did the next morning. Which was a mistake. He hid under the bed and we couldn't get him out.

Teaching him stuff is difficult. There are a lot of rules that me and Skavenger come up with every day because we don't know what to allow and what not. And then he is also pretty stubborn :D But he is also very sweet and you can put him in any position, upside down and he won't mind. He'll maybe get a little bit annoyed though.

He is interested in the birds. Looks at em all the time, bud doesn't really come close. We won't allow him to touch the cage, though sometimes he tries. The birds are not terrified by Pica either. They even taunt him a bit. And when pino moves her head fast in a downward angle and "ssh"-es him he even moves back a bit afraid of the bird. Luckily he does not see them as prey... I think.

Spoiled little brats come in all sizes, especially small. We bought everything, including good food. However it was dry! He doesn't eat that... The first day he just spent being really sweet... probably without energy. At first we thought it was because of the heat (32 degrees Celcius, 90 degrees Fahrenheit), because he went to his food the first evening but was too scared to eat a lot.
This is a picture of him lying next to the stairs trying to cool down on the small wooden plank.

He nowadays likes the tiles on the bathroom floor. They are also cool.

First time he was in the bathroom I didn't know where he was and checked if he wasn't in the bathroom, but forgot to check under the cupboard. A minute later I heard meowing, didn't know where it came from though. Searched everywhere to finally open the bathroom door and there he was sitting right in front of the door looking up at me.
Oh and he found my long lost toothbrush :D Now I can brush my teeth again ;)

I was worried because he didn't eat, so I told skavenger to buy some canned food on her way home. When we opened that he came looking immediately and ate all we gave him in under a minute.
We started mixing the food with the canned food and today he ate dry food with water without the canned food. Now just remove the humidity from the food and he'll eat what we want him to eat.

He is a pain in the ass. Eating paper and tasting plastic, climbing into the sheet we pull over the birds cage, climbing 2 meters up a wall, putting his nails in the furniture climbing the couch (not really scratching his nails tough, he does that with the carpet in the hallway).
Two upsides, he doesn't shit around but uses his litter-box for that. And he does not eat cables, just some cables hanging from tables and walls. He's more playing with em.

We have a lot to teach him though.

Oh last picture; him watching me shave!

Yeah, he is a terrible menace indeed, lol!

And I always said I never want children, look what I got for a substitute. Not sure which is worse, but you can leave a cat alone in the house, and ignore him when he's trying to get your attention in the middle of the night. Hell Marino, he's less of a handful than you are! ;-) (That's what you get from making fun of me, if you forgot what I mean, I'd be glad to remind you :P)

They said Pica was the quietest kitten of them all, but I'm sincerely doubting that, after having seen him rummage around here and digging up my plants and worse... But he is really sweet, and I'm glad we have him now.

Now to teach him some manners ;-)

well if Pica should be the quietest one, maybe compered to his brothers and sisters.... now he's in charge, ....until you get the control, good luck both of you with your little brad

That last picture, you can totally tell that he's thinking: "What the hell is he doing?!"
